Final festive fair shout out

The festive fair is nearly upon us and this is a final call for donations of unwanted gifts, sweets for in jars for the tombolla, cakes & mince pies to sell and any last minute raffle prizes.

Donations can be dropped off on the day.

We could really do with a few volunteers to help out at 5pm with the tidy up and a couple of volunteers for the silent disco and Santa’s grotto so please get in touch if you could do a 30 minute stint.

Finally, we look forward to seeing you from 2-5pm tomorrow. Come and meet Santa, have some food, buy your tree and gifts at the market and be entertained by the school choirs.

Every penny we raise will go towards essential school activities.

thanks everyone

PSA AGM: Thu 23 Nov, 7:30pm

Just a reminder it’s the Parent–Staff Association (PSA) annual general meeting (AGM) this Thursday, 23 November, at 7.30pm in the Junior Hall.

As you are hopefully already aware from previous PSA meetings and the latest PSA newsletter, the school is planning to create a new single PSA thereby effectively merging the two existing (infant and junior) PSAs.

It would be great to have as many people there as possible.

Thank you!

Nasal spray flu vaccine: 8 December 2017

All children from Reception to Year 4 in Haringey are offered the flu vaccination. Please complete your consent form by Friday 24 November, whether or not you want you child to receive the vaccination. This will help the NHS to gauge further uptake.

The immunisation is a nasal spray which doesn’t hurt as there are no needles involved.

Rokesly’s commitment to the programme of providing immunisations will help to greatly reduce illness over the flu season.

Consent forms were in book bags last week. If you need a replacement, the form can be downloaded from the website (Word doc).

More information on the children’s flu vaccination here (NHS).

International Evening: Thurs 9 Nov

Next Thursday 9th November is International Evening! It is a free event to promote and celebrate our school community. Unfortunately it didn’t happen last year as there weren’t enough volunteers and we’re hoping we don’t have to cancel it again this year.

To be able to go ahead and be a success the PSA are looking for donations of prepared food, for example a family favourite or a dish from your cultural background. This can be a starter, main or pudding. The idea is everyone shares and tastes something new (or at least something they didn’t make!). I assume no nuts!

Helpers to are also needed on the 9th to do the following jobs

  • set up
  • serve food
  • sell drinks
  • tidy up

We are also looking for entertainment, we have the infant school choir performing but if there are any other parents/carers who would like to showcase their talents that would be great.
If anyone can help with any of the above please email the PSA chair –
I hope everyone can bring something, come along on the 9th and/or volunteer.

It’s a family event and is on fairly early to encourage people to come as a family rather than having to find babysitters. More details will follow soon.

It would be great if this event could go ahead this year.
